How to Clear It Faster

Two adjustments made within the first 48 to 72 hours are sufficient to clear the odor completely.

01 Switch your thermostat fan from AUTO to ON

Most thermostats default to AUTO, meaning air only circulates when heating or cooling is actively running.

Switching to ON keeps air moving continuously through your system, which depletes the dust faster and clears the smell sooner.

02 Open windows and run your exhaust fans

Bringing fresh air into your home gives the released compounds somewhere to go rather than recirculating through your system.

Consistency during the first two to three days is key to optimal performance.

Increasing ventilation throughout the home during the first 24 to 48 hours may help dissipate the odor sooner, though no health risk has been identified at standard residential UV-C operating levels.
